Job hunting

This one goes out to all my friends on the hunt for a job, and it seems like there are more lately than usual.

I see so much online focusing on technology and software. Technology is NOT a substitute for talent. Every semester kids are graduating from college with great technology and software skills, and they’re happy to work for less money than you. If the best asset on your resume is your ability to use a particular brand of software, you’re in big trouble.

Shift focus from software skills and focus on your ability to apply talent and creativity to projects, and list those achievements. Be the person with good ideas and a resume filled with success. That’s how you become indispensable and irreplaceable.
