Kody Chamberlain was born and raised in Thibodaux, Louisiana before relocating to Lafayette in 1993. He’s not only the first in his family to go to college, but the only one to finish high school. Through a difficult childhood and challenging environment, he became independent, resilient, and developed an unusually strong work ethic. A graduate of UL’s Advertising Design program under legendary professor Dutch Kepler, Kody has since gone on to create original and groundbreaking work in comics and graphic novels for companies like Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, IDW, and Image Comics. He has also earned an impressive list of credits as a professional story artist with HALO/343 Industries, HarperCollins, Funny or Die, Line Webtoon, MTV, Sony, Warner Bros., and more.
His creator-owned work has been optioned for feature film development by Universal and 20th Century FOX, and his hit series "Sweets: A New Orleans Crime Story" was described by CRAVE as “…a bob-and-weave of story that talks like a Tarantino film.” Kody is currently writing and drawing an all-new comic book series about organized crime in Louisiana, and developing on an original television pilot that has earned a second-round spot at both Austin Film Festival and Sundance. Kody currently lives in Maurice, Louisiana with his wife Kristie and their son Lucas.
In addition to his work in entertainment, Kody also offers workshops, keynote presentations, and consulting services. He's had professional speaking and workshop appearances at CTN Animation Expo, HOW Design Live, Modbook, Macworld, as well as major universities, Comic Cons, and AdFed/AIGA groups throughout the United States.
